Born in Manhattan, New York, Beverly graduated from Lucy C.Laney High School in 1967, she went on to receive her Bachelor of Science Degree from Tuskegee Institute (University) in 1971. Beverly pursued her graduate studies at both Augusta College and the University of South Carolina, Aiken.
Beverly was a proud member of the Augusta Tuskegee Alumni Association; Richmond County Retired Teachers Association; Top Ladies of Distinction, Incorporated – Augusta Chapter and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated-Augusta Alumnae Chapter.
Dr. Yvonne J. Shaw

Dr. Yvonne J. Shaw the beloved wife of the late Dr. Arthur H. Shaw retired from the Richmond County public school system after 33 years. She went to work at Paine College, where she served as Chair of the Division of Education and Teacher Education. After leaving Paine College, Dr. Shaw continued her endeavors as a full-time motivational speaker, workshop and seminar presenter.
Dr. Shaw held membership in numerous organizations and has received numerous awards and commendations. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. church where she served as secretary of the Trustees, a member of the Chancel Choir and past president.
